Yes you are going to get distortion with any magnifying mirror. But this mirror is not as horrible as some of the reviews might make it seem.First the positives. It’s very lightweight and does not fall when you properly use the suction and twist the base into the lock position. The negative is that it only suctions on specific surfaces. Suction works great on my bathroom mirror and clean smooth tile but not so well on my fiber glass shower wall, stone tile or my resurfaced (plastic coated) shower. You are given a hook that can completely replace the suction cup.The 3X magnification is great at the right distance (up close). Pretty much every other distance is going to be distorted when using it in the shower. There is a point where far objects are also clear but that’s not really applicable in the shower. If you want a clear reflection get a regular mirror not a magnifying one.The mirror does feel a little cheap considering the price tag. You have to reapply defogger liquid (included), and you have to avoid water running over the mirror surface.

Tip… when you rotate the mirror hold down the suction cup with your other hand. The ball-joint in the back of mirror is kinda tight so it won’t slip or rotate easily, that’s a good thing.

Sticks to tile well. Good size and magnification. Only complaint I have is it does get fogged up in a hot shower, I plan to put some automotive anti fog on it that should work well. Would def buy again.
