I didn’t realize there is a top and bottom to the two flat pieces that slide together to make the center. I attached the rotating bottom to the top part. Had to use a small screwdriver to get under the rubber ring bands to take the bottom off. Thankfully I did not break anything.The instructions do not mention this. If you look at the diagram on the instructions, you can see the slight difference.Otherwise, I am very happy with this makeup organizer. Prettier than the black one it is replacing.I suggest you put the shelves in and use it for a few days to make sure the shelves are where you want them before you put the rubber rings on because the rubber rings are difficult to remove.

I looked at several different models. Actually didn’t know I needed this at all. Was scrolling pintrest and there was an ad. Was not going to get anything like it. I am so glad I did. I use it constantly. This is the best. There are less expensive ones but I’d recommend this one. It has little holders in it for all of my things so I can find things and stay organized and that is the whole purpose. I use it unconsciously now and just spin it and grab what I need where before I was always searching for my stuff. Cut down on my putzing time getting myself ready. I thought it would be a pain to put together-nope-put it together in about 15 minutes, probably less. I didn’t read the directions. That included putting my stuff on it. I’d get one for the bathroom and my nightstand. EDIT: I now have to replace it with another brand. The shelves broke where they attached to the main support. Only the top and bottom are intact. It is only a year old. HUGE disappointment. I expected it to last more than one year. In the trash. Great concept, but this item did not deliver.
